“Embrace the Dark, but live the Light.”

“I love the Light as much as I love the Dark. It’s such a beautiful balance.”

~ Sheila Renee Parker

I openly embrace both, the Light and the Dark, and that’s with life in general. The reason for this, I truly believe, is that by doing so it helps me to better understand things, to open my perspective of my surroundings. To have one without the other is irrational. The balance becomes heavily outweighed. There can’t be Light without Dark, nor Dark without Light.

Now, that doesn’t mean that I condone violence or hatred of any kind. Absolutely not! I live by the Rede, “An it harm none, do what ye will.” And I am a huge believer in Karma. But what I am referring to when I say that I embrace the Dark as much as I do the Light, is that we all have our moments. We’re not always going to have the perfect life. However, I do believe that life is what we make it. We’re occasionally all going to have that “off-beat” moment when we may feel like “blah”, and that’s perfectly o.k. Life’s not always going to be peachy keen and we need to accept those “Dark” times. Embrace them for they are the moments that help us to become stronger and appreciate the “Light” moments all the more. Even the darkest of moments can’t survive when the tiniest of light exists. There is a radiant spark within us all. Let it light the way to empowerment!

Be proud of who you are and love the individual you’ve become. You are worthy of what you deserve. We all harness the power to achieve greatness. Dream. Believe. Achieve!

Love & Light! ~ Sheila

Year 3: A Ghostly Anniversary!!!

Yes!!! Can you believe it?! I’m soooo excited to be celebrating THREE fantabulous years with you all!!!

This post is a little past due and my sincerest apologies for its delay, but this summer has been quite the busy one full of wonderful things! So many projects going on right now and I promise to keep everyone posted. As many of you know, I’ve recently been the guest on a couple of different shows. In June, I was the guest on Vegas Supernatural. And at the beginning of July, I was the guest on Vanishing Gates livestream… https://www.facebook.com/events/108218599811785/?acontext=%7B%22ref%22%3A%2222%22%2C%22feed_story_type%22%3A%2222%22%2C%22action_history%22%3A%22null%22%7D&pnref=story

Also, I was featured on 1HourProofreading… https://1hourproofreading.com/blog/sheila-renee-parker-the-author-within

All exciting events that I’m very proud to have been involved in! What an honor!!!

Aside from those, I’ve been working on some pretty exciting interviews for my site. Interviews with guests that I know you’ll all love and enjoy. Can’t wait to share with you!!

With all that being said, what about my paranormal articles? Not to worry, my research never ends. I’ve been working diligently with various spooky topics as well. And thanks to everyone, it’s because of you that I’ve found the courage to speak up more openly about my own paranormal experiences! I can only hope that you can do the same, and feel comfortable about opening up with any ghostly tales that you may have.

Oh and one more thing that I’ve been working on, (told ya that it’s been a busy summer… lol). My artwork. As many of you know, I’m also an artist. People have asked if prints of my art are available and the answer is yes. Here’s the link…. https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/sheilarenee-parker.html

I’ve also been commissioned to do private sketches for people. If anyone is interested in that, please feel free to contact me…..  https://sheilarparker.wordpress.com/contact-sheila-renee-parker/

Again, it’s been three fantabulous years that I’ve been sharing with everyone. The summer of 2014 was when I first created this site and each year just keeps getting better and better, and I owe it all to YOU!!!! I wish I could give each of you the BIGGEST HUG EVER!!!! You all are the greatest and I truly mean it when I say that I love you!!!

YOU ROCK and always remember: Be Original. Be True. Be YOU!

Reincarnation

This next topic is often bit of a controversial one due to different beliefs. It is never my intent to offend anyone with what I write, but I do believe that having an opened mind is key to understanding the unknown.

Now, the subject of reincarnation is one that I find to be extremely interesting. Do I believe in it? Absolutely, 100%! What exactly is reincarnation? It’s when a spirit/ soul is born again. After an individual dies, their spirit/ soul is reincarnated into another living body. A “rebirth”. Many believe that the reason for this is to learn from one lifetime to another, taking with us knowledge that will help us to achieve higher wisdom.

As crazy as it may sound, I actually have memories of some of the past lives that I’ve lived. These memories (as few as they are) are as clear as the ones that I have from this life. I know this sounds absurd, but I have strong connections with the eras from which my recollections come.

For instance, a couple of years ago I was at a book signing for my novel, The Spirit Within when I was approached by a lovely elderly woman (for which I wrote the article “A Curious Encounter”) who told me that she could “see” things that others couldn’t. Then, she proceeded to tell me that I used to be a white witch. I gently smiled at the beautiful face and replied, “I know” right before she walked away. And I honestly did know what she was talking about, even though to carry on such an intense conversation with her wouldn’t have been prudent at the time. However, I would have loved to have done so because she seemed truly inspiring.

But in regards to which she was referring to, I knew very well. It was late 1600’s, time of the witch trials. I was a single female in my mid- twenties and considered a healer among the community. I don’t remember exactly how it all transpired, but I was eventually wrongfully accused of working with dark magic. My last memory? Hanging in the tree just before I died and looking down at all the ones who sought out my help before the panic of ignorance changed their minds. I also remember my clothing, down to the very minute detail, from my brown dress to my shoes and even my long hair.

Then, there was the life when I was a male soldier in the U.S. Army during World War II. I have such a strong attachment to that time, including the music for which I absolutely love! I died after being shot out in the field. It was pouring down rain, my Army fatigues were soaked and muddied, and I fell face first into a fox hole where I drowned in a deep puddle.

There are a few more memories I have, including when I was a very caring nurse in a hospital at the turn of the 1900’s. These are all pretty intense memories, but they’re definitely mine. If you have any recollections of reincarnation, I’d love to hear about them. Let’s open up and share!

Interview with actor, Lawrence Chau

Today I’m welcoming back actor, producer, writer and host, Lawrence Chau. Thank you, Lawrence for stopping by!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I was born and raised in Toronto and have lived nine lives as a journalist, a public relations executive and as an actor/ television host in Canada, Asia and America (Ghostly Encounters, The Border, On The Run: The Elusive Mr. Wee, Showbuzz Singapore, Miss Singapore Universe, Hollywood Squares Singapore, Citylife Hong Kong and most recently, In The Limelight with Lawrence Chau). I’m currently living in Los Angeles and loving the weather, but hating the traffic. I will drive you bananas with useless showbiz trivia and conversations about politics. I love pets (especially dogs) and have a thing for real estate, especially sexy lofts. I am also aligned with the segment of the population that likes coconuts, avocados, and nuts. My vices include coffee and potato chips. Words that best describe me: silly, witty, inquisitive, intuitive, creative, organized, meticulous, friendly, adventurous, tenacious and independent.

Since your previous interview, you’ve had a lot of exciting things going on. Can you share with everyone?

Firstly, thanks for having me back! Yes, I started my own little production company and launched an online Hollywood talk show: In The Limelight with Lawrence Chau (#ITLwithLC), which I host, produce and write. I’m also in the midst of developing a few short films and possibly an independent feature. Projects like that generally take a long time to manifest because there are so many cogs in the wheel. When they do surface, though, you’ll just have to have me back to blab some more!

You’re the host of In The Limelight with Lawrence Chau. What kind of guests do you have on your show and where can viewers tune in?

#ITLwithLC is familiar territory as it brings me back to my showbiz hosting roots (I used to travel the world interviewing the biggest stars as the anchor and producer of Showbuzz, Singapore’s No. 1 entertainment news program. I was Mario Lopez before Extra Mario Lopez!).

I get to interview a range of showbiz movers and shakers on #ITLwithLC — from actors to writers to filmmakers. There are fresh faces and established names in the mix. The talk show is equal parts informative and fun.

We’ve had some great guests so far: Danish actor Caspar Phillipson, who played President John F. Kennedy in Jackie; Jona Xiao who has landed roles in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Keeping Up With The Joneses, Gifted, Halt and Catch Fire and Being Mary Jane; Heather Storm, who hosts Garage Squad; and the hilarious Katz Twins, who found fame by looking like Bradley Cooper (they really do!).

Most recently I got to interview showbiz correspondent and multiple New York Times best selling author J. Randy Taraborrelli, who’s penned biographies on everyone from Diana Ross and Beyonce to Michael Jackson and Madonna. He’s also written books on The Kennedys and is hot off the heels from executive producing and writing the hit Reelz cable channel mini-series, After Camelot. That was a pinch-me-moment because I grew up as a showbiz addict reading his books.

#ITLwithLC airs online on PacificRimVideo, SurgeTV, and my own YouTube channel (Lawrence Chau).

Aside from Ghostly Encounters, will there be anymore paranormal shows for you in the works?

Never say never, but honestly nothing concrete at the moment. I get a lot of fan inquiries asking if GE will return. I wish it were! It was a great gig. We were very much one of the forerunners to a lot today’s paranormal reality shows. Fingers crossed, though, one of my horror short films will see the light of day this or next year.

You recently were at the Oscars. What was that like?

As mind-blowing as it was when they announced the Best Oscar goes to…La La Land, no wait, Moonlight! After that it became pretty much a blur thanks to way too much Chardonnay. (Read: Lightweight as I normally don’t like to drink). I thought Jimmy Kimmel rocked as a host — just as he did at the 68th Prime Time Emmys, which I was also lucky enough to attend.

What’s next for Lawrence Chau?

Aside from developing more showbiz projects, I reckon a long overdue trip to New York, my favorite city, is in the pipeline and a holiday in Europe somewhere (Italy, Spain, England, Germany, Austria…?).

Positive words of wisdom?

Father Time has a way of sneaking up on you, so do what you love and try to start early. Stay focused. That said, it’s never too late to change. You just have to adapt wisely and be realistic. Whatever path(s) you choose in life, be prepared for a lot of curve balls and setbacks. Life is a challenge, a grind. You have to be tenacious, adaptable. Also, something Tom Ford (who wrote and directed Nocturnal Animals, one of my favorite films of late) said also resonated: You can have talent, looks and opportunity, but nothing will manifest unless you have drive. I’m trying to figure out why some people have drive whilst others don’t.
