“The Apparition”

The mysterious world of the unknown has always fascinated me.The exploration of the various topics is something that I will continue to research for as long as I live. However using caution, I will remain strong, courageous and show absolutely no fear. I’m often asked if I’m frightened by the paranormal. Honestly, I used to be, especially when I was a kid. My lack of understanding was basis for that. ‘Tis the reason for me eventually facing my fears and overcoming them. I do believe in respect by showing it and giving it to the spirit realm. I never provoke, nor display any form of agitation towards them. For me, it’s all about respecting both, the living and the dead…. and everything in between.

By doing so, I truly feel at peace as I openly express my curiosity for the supernatural by being an author and also an artist. My expression isn’t only conveyed through words, but through other artistic media as well. There’s such passion in one’s creativity.

The below image is a watercolor that I painted. Then, I added some digital effects to give it more color, making the painting more vibrant.

I’ve titled it, “The Apparition”.

“Embrace the Dark, but live the Light.”

“I love the Light as much as I love the Dark. It’s such a beautiful balance.”

~ Sheila Renee Parker

I openly embrace both, the Light and the Dark, and that’s with life in general. The reason for this, I truly believe, is that by doing so it helps me to better understand things, to open my perspective of my surroundings. To have one without the other is irrational. The balance becomes heavily outweighed. There can’t be Light without Dark, nor Dark without Light.

Now, that doesn’t mean that I condone violence or hatred of any kind. Absolutely not! I live by the Rede, “An it harm none, do what ye will.” And I am a huge believer in Karma. But what I am referring to when I say that I embrace the Dark as much as I do the Light, is that we all have our moments. We’re not always going to have the perfect life. However, I do believe that life is what we make it. We’re occasionally all going to have that “off-beat” moment when we may feel like “blah”, and that’s perfectly o.k. Life’s not always going to be peachy keen and we need to accept those “Dark” times. Embrace them for they are the moments that help us to become stronger and appreciate the “Light” moments all the more. Even the darkest of moments can’t survive when the tiniest of light exists. There is a radiant spark within us all. Let it light the way to empowerment!

Be proud of who you are and love the individual you’ve become. You are worthy of what you deserve. We all harness the power to achieve greatness. Dream. Believe. Achieve!

Love & Light! ~ Sheila

With all that being said, what about my paranormal articles? Not to worry, my research never ends. I’ve been working diligently with various spooky topics as well. And thanks to everyone, it’s because of you that I’ve found the courage to speak up more openly about my own paranormal experiences! I can only hope that you can do the same, and feel comfortable about opening up with any ghostly tales that you may have.

Oh and one more thing that I’ve been working on, (told ya that it’s been a busy summer… lol). My artwork. As many of you know, I’m also an artist. People have asked if prints of my art are available and the answer is yes. Here’s the link…. https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/sheilarenee-parker.html

Butterflies In The Sky: Joplin, Missouri

It was May 22, on a Sunday in 2011 when the town of Joplin, Missouri faced a destruction they would never forget. The population of just over 50,000 residents held onto dear life as an EF5 tornado plowed through their community. Horrific winds gusting of around 200 mph sadly claimed the lives of 161 people and injured another 1,150. Over 900 homes were demolished. People stated that the entire place looked like a war zone. What was the estimated damage created by this haunting nightmare? A shocking $3 billion!

Even though with so much destruction, countless homes were spared. It wasn’t long after the storm’s passing that tales of beautiful winged beings started to emerge. Children began describing creatures that looked like humans with wings of butterflies. The children claimed that these unearthly beings hovered over their homes as they witnessed the tornado whirling past them. It was thought that these beings served as protection from the storm. The town affectionately called them The Butterfly People. However, to many residents, they believe these creatures simply as guardian angels.

Below is a mural titled, “The Butterfly Effect” painted by artist, Dave Loewenstein.

Meet Raleigh Nichols

Have you read my paranormal romance, The Spirit Within? If so, then you’ll know who this rugged mechanic is. Meet Raleigh Nichols, the inimical boyfriend of the main character, Cassy Blakemore.

Who is this irreverent soul?

He’s a hard working mechanic who’s employed full-time at the local body shop. His name is Raleigh Nichols and is crazy in love with his girlfriend, Cassy Blakemore. Sure, he may be a tad overbearing and a bit cynical, but that doesn’t stop him from wanting to please his girl with his sultry, southern charm. The way Raleigh’s sensual touch melts Cassy’s heart, gets her every time. Well, that is until the day Raleigh’s inner darkness emerges. A darkness that becomes so brutal that it creates a terrifying wedge between the two lovers.

Their love is undeniable, but the personal turmoil that Raleigh battles causes him to lose the fight to alcoholism. While his thirst grows deeper for the bottle, his anger becomes intensified as his emotions become explosively abusive towards Cassy. Raleigh’s apologies are hollow and ignored, but that doesn’t end his relentless obsession with his girlfriend.

Before the final straw breaks, Cassy discovers supernatural abilities that she never knew she had. It’s thanks to these newly found powers that keep her world from totally disintegrating.

How does Raleigh deal with Cassy mysteriously “zoning out”? And how does this volatile relationship continue….. or does it? Get your very own copy of my novel, The Spirit Within available on Amazon!

Here’s the sketch that I did of Raleigh Nichols from my novel, The Spirit Within. Prints of my sketch are available at…. https://fineartamerica.com/featured/raleigh-nichols-sheila-renee-parker.html
